Tasty African Food Catford
Welcome to Tasty African Food Catford
Nestled in the heart of Catford, London, Tasty African Food Catford aims to serve up a delightful array of traditional African dishes, providing a cultural taste experience for local and visiting food lovers alike. Located at Unit 7 Eros House, Brownhill Road, Catford, London SE6 2, this eatery promises to transport diners on a culinary journey through the vibrant flavors of Africa.
While the essence of African cuisine is truly commendable, I find it essential to balance culinary enjoyment with dining experience. From jollof rice to egusi soup, Tasty African Food Catford offers a menu full of potential. However, recent reviews have highlighted some glaring concerns regarding customer service that cannot go unnoticed.
Menu Highlights
- Jollof Rice: A staple dish, often celebrated for its rich flavors. Ideal for jollof enthusiasts.
- Egusi Soup: A hearty and satisfying option, perfect for comfort food seekers.
- Kyon Pinger: A unique drink option highlighting the café's eclectic offerings.
Unfortunately, the experience at Tasty African Food Catford has been marred by inconsistent service. Customers have voiced concerns about rude staff interactions and incorrect orders. One patron lamented important aspects such as food presentation, especially in terms of receiving dishes in broken containers. Such details hinder the overall enjoyment that patrons come to expect from African cuisine.
Moreover, organizational lapses such as charging extra for hot meals have caused confusion and dissatisfaction among the clientele. It’s disheartening that what should have been a delightful takeaway experience turned into a series of frustrations, as indicated by numerous reviews.
Final Thoughts
Tasty African Food Catford certainly holds the potential to be a thriving spot for those craving African flavors. The menu features several high points, allowing for culinary exploration. However, for the establishment to truly shine, improvements in customer relations and service quality are paramount. As a food reviewer, I believe both the food and the dining atmosphere deserve equal attention to elevate this brand’s reputation.
Accessible by phone at (203) 404-5250, Tasty African Food Catford stands poised to win over the hearts (and stomachs) of the local community—if they can hit the right notes on service alongside their tasty offerings.

If there was anything lower than star, I’ll give it. Why would a takeaway shop ask for extra charge for your meal to be hot. It’s a first for me. Is this a new tasty rule? And the staff was rude as I’ve read in the reviews here must be the same lady. She seemed pleased not to serve me as I left without buying anything. Ps: it’s , why would you still have a £ minimum charge for card payment.

The food is fine but the service needs to improve drastically. I've come here more than times but today will be my last day if I can help it. Recently they have had younger staff in who lack basic customer service and give customers food like Egusi soup in broken containers. Its just bad service my food is contaminated. I saw them hold it and pack it right in front of me so I know they felt how damaged the container was.

I was at the restaurant today (Catford), the short girl between the two girls attending to customers was so uncultured, barbaric, rude and horrible up to the extent that she called back a man who finished with his meal and was leaving the restaurant to come and pack his plates. I was so shocked the Chinese, the Indians... will never behave in a dirty manner as if she’s still existing in a village in Yoruba land. This is the bad element that will spoil business for the owners.

My friend is a jollof rice lover and we stopped by for lunch before an appointment. When ordering, the order was NOT listened to and incorrectly served. When the staff was corrected, they immediately changed their demeanour. For a simple thing like asking for extra sauce , they gave very little , after which an African client came and they served him a giant scoop of fresh sauce. This is not how to showcase your food in another country. On top of that, the food wasn't good. Definitely hope they fail for the customer's sake.
